So it's been ages since I've updated, but this is a call out for help to everyone.
I'm directing a short film titled A Nightmare on the Town. It's a werewolf biker film that we're shooting all over the greater Pittsburgh area, but come next tuesday night, the 7th of July, I need monsters. Like a shit ton of monsters. Here's the craigslist posting I made. If any of you guys can come out and help, please do so and it will be greatly appreciated!!
"WE NEED MONSTERS FOR A WEREWOLF BIKER FILM SHOOTING IN PITTSBURGH!!!
Any and all kinds of fantastical movie monsters are needed to fill in a party scene at the DUQUESNE INCLINE on TUESDAY JULY 7TH.
This is a non-paying gig, but there will be food and drink provided, and you'll have the opportunity to get credit on an independent film.
We'll be shooting Tuesday July 7th. Call for actors to get into makeup is at 7, call for actors already in makeup is 8:30. We start shooting the second the sun goes down. You must provide your own costume, but depending on the type of monster, we may be able to assist with makeup.

I just made a new community called the Senseless Ramblings Movie Blog, in which I'm going to be doing most of my blog writing work, at least for this summer anyway. Hey kids, I don't update ever, but I feel it's time for one, however short/long this may turn out to be.
It's valentine's day, my one year with Miriam, and the time of midterms. Well, VD will go well, my relationship's going absolutely fucking fantastic (^.^) and my midterm today was canceled, so all in all, I'm pretty fucking chipper. In other news, The cast is damn close to securing a theater, though who knows when we'll actually start regular shows. We'll do monthly at first, but hopefully attendance will rock and we'll be able to make it more often.
I've been hanging out at CMU a lot. The cluster monkeys are good people it seems. Lots of counter-strike is played, which I sincerely miss. Additionally KGB stuff is a lot of fun. Hopefully some of these CMU jokesters will get their shit together and we'll be able to jam soon, but we'll see.

So this past week, a ton of trailers for upcoming movies have hit the net. First and foremost, I need to talk about Spider-man 3. Oh. My. God. The CGI for the trailer is hopefully unfinished, but looks promising enough. The one drawback of it was no Venom, but I'll get to that in a bit. The plot's easy enough: Spidey faces the Sandman and Harry as the Green Goblin 2 (on a flying snowboard with a ski-mask, which disappoints me a lot but meh), while battling himself wearing an alien symbiote that is trying to take over his body. After fighting this suit, he is able to rip it off in the middle of a bell tower, when the suit drips down to a photographer named Eddie Brock, who then becomes Venom. Holy promising story. After talking about the unofficial one, sans Venom, there was a leaked trailer put up that has tons of unfinished CGI, but at the end has a FULLY REALIZED VENOM. You should really go check this out now before it gets taken down.

Next up, since it's closer than the third movie that's coming out, is an indie flick called Fanboys. Fanboys is about a group of geeks that travel cross country to steal a copy of Star Wars: Episode 1 from George Lucas's home six months before the movie comes out. All in all, it looks very entertaining, especially for a SW geek like me. Also, it's got a bunch of cameos from stars of the movies, like Carrie Fischer, Billy Dee Williams, and Ray Park (Darth Maul). Check it out:

The movie we've all been waiting at least a decade, if not longer to see, The Simpsons. The trailer gives away nothing of the plot, which is about Homer causing a nuclear meltdown and having to save Springfield from certain doom, but is just really a cute, funny clip. Whether you want to see it or not when it comes out, you'll definitely be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Here it is:

So life's been pretty freaking amazing. Miriam and I have been together for a month and 1/2 now. She's staying in Pittsburgh until April 11th, which makes me uber happy, and she surprised me by showing up 3 days early and calling me and being like "i'm downstairs." ugh pinch me, I must be dreaming. It's been a while since anyone's made me feel this good. So there are only 27 days until I'm home for the summer and I really can't wait. Hopefully I'll be able to strengthen my singing voice a bit and I'll get to play Riff Raff in Frantic Fran's RHS production. If not, I'm already definitely the understudy for every male character. I can't wait til the fall though, because my apartment's going to be sah-weet!! Send me an im if you feel like knowing more, I have a girl to attend to now.... |
